Makerspace
A makerspace is a collaborative workspace where individuals with common interests, often in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields, can share resources and knowledge. These spaces provide access to various tools and equipment, including 3D printers, laser cutters, electronics and woodworking tools, among others.
Hack-a-thon
Hack-a-thons are events where individuals, often working in teams, come together to collaborate on solving a specific problem or challenge through rapid ideation, prototyping and iteration. They are often used as a tool for generating new ideas and solutions, as well as for testing and refining existing ones. Participants may come from a range of backgrounds and skillsets, including designers, developers, engineers, business professionals and subject matter experts.
Crowdsourcing Challenges
Crowdsourcing involves engaging a large and diverse group of individuals or organizations to solve specific problems or challenges. Crowdsourcing aims to tap into the collective knowledge, creativity, and expertise of diverse participants to develop innovative and effective solutions. Crowdsourcing challenges have been used in various industries and contexts, from developing new technologies to addressing social and environmental topics.
Block Diagramming / Sketching Software
Block diagramming/sketching software is a type of software tool that allows individuals to create visual representations of ideas, concepts and processes. These tools typically feature a range of pre-built shapes, icons and symbols that can be arranged and connected to create block diagrams or sketches. Block diagramming/sketching software can be useful in innovation/entrepreneurship for ideation, design and communication of complex ideas and processes.
Task Management Software
Task management software is used in innovation and entrepreneurship to help individuals and teams keep track of their projects, tasks and deadlines. This type of software typically allows users to create to-do lists, set due dates, assign tasks to team members and track progress towards completion. It can also include calendar integration, project collaboration tools and reporting capabilities to help users stay organized and on track.

- classroom presentations about NPPD careers or specific careers if a subject matter expert is available;
- attending your school's career fair;
- coordinating student tours of NPPD facilities; and
- making career materials available to you
