Business Planning refers to developing a roadmap that outlines a company’s goals and strategies for achieving them. This involves identifying the company’s mission, vision and values, as well as conducting a SWOT analysis to determine the internal and external factors such as strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of a business or project that may impact the business.

Business Foundation

Business foundations refer to the fundamental principles, concepts and techniques that guide the establishment and operation of a successful business. These include strategies for market analysis, business planning, finance, accounting and human resources management. By building a strong foundation, businesses can better manage risks, make informed decisions, and optimize performance.

Marketing

Marketing involves identifying and satisfying customers’ needs while generating profits for the company. It is a crucial component of any business as it helps create brand awareness, attract new customers, retain existing ones and increase sales. Marketing involves various activities such as market research, product development, pricing, advertising, promotions and sales. The ultimate goal of marketing is to create value for the customers and the business.

Operations Management

Operations management refers to the administration of business practices to create the highest efficiency possible within an organization. It involves overseeing and managing a business’s resources and processes to deliver its products and services. This includes managing the production of goods and services, ensuring quality control, managing inventory and optimizing supply chain management.

Strategic Planning

Strategic planning is a process by which organizations define their long-term goals and the strategies needed to achieve them. It involves a systematic analysis of an organization’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT analysis), identification of its mission and objectives, and development of plans and programs to achieve those objectives.

  • classroom presentations about NPPD careers or specific careers if a subject matter expert is available;
  • attending your school's career fair;
  • coordinating student tours of NPPD facilities; and
  • making career materials available to you
